Default Idle issues

I recently replaced my iac because of idle issues. Now that I have replaced it, the truck idles higher than it should. While in gear it doesn't really drop below 1k rpm. It's as if I'm not letting off the gas so I have lost my ability to coast. Will this go away over time? I think maybe the truck just needs to learn how to idle again because I drove it so long with a bad iac.

No it should've been immediate.
You disconnected your battery while you were working on it, right?
Maybe bumped the TPS, did you take the throttle body off to replace the IAC?
Did you plug your MAF back in?
Could be a few different things. I would begin by going back over my work.

I'll go back and check everything. I honestly don't remember I disconnected the battery or not. The only thing I did to the throttle body was clean it.

Alright I just checked everything. It all seemed fine. I don't know how to check the tps. I did reset the iac and it seems to have fixed it. I'm about to go drive it. I'll let you know the results

It's still not completely fixed but it is much better. The first day after I fixed it, I could maintain 30mph without touching the pedal. Now it will only go about 10mph. When I let off the gas it is still slow to reduce speed but it's not near as bad as what it was.
