i have a 03 4.6 there is a problem that just started when i start my truck up it has been idleing really low sounds like its about to shut off then when i rev it up the engine shuts off any suggestions

 

and also when i am at a stop light the idle will drop doesnt even sound like the truck is on

 

check for any codes, are any lights in the dash on ?

 

theres no codes no lights nothin

 

clean the throttle body , maybe will help but it sounds more drastic than that

 

i cleaned the throttle body a little bit i dont know if haveing true duals with no mufflers would have anything to do with it but ive had them on for about 4 months and the problem has been getting worse

 

i dont think so, check a repair manual and check anything that has to do with idle.

 

Sounds like the IAC is going bad.You might get away with cleaning it. But It didn't work with mine. If you do buy one make sure it is Ford- Motorsport brand. I exchanged three new ones from2 different brands from auto zone and 1 from advance. Before someone told me that the 4.6 n 5.4 don't like any other brand of IAC but Motorsport. I ended up getting mine off Ebay for $40.00. Good luck
