Default Flowmaster or Thrush

I just bought a 97 F150 ext cab with the 4.6. I want a get a new exhaust. SI/DO and want a nice good sound. I'm thinking Flowmaster super 44, 40 series, or thrush welded. Anyone with these exhaust have any input?

Those two don't belong in the same sentence IMO Borla, Magnaflow, and the Dynomax bullet all have a good sound. If you're stuck on the chambered muffler whichever series you go get stainless as the aluminized rusts quickly.

The thrush welded one is ok. thrush turbo almost seems to make it quieter. I got the thrush glasspack now and sounds best. and you could always run the glasspack then a "Y" pipe right after it for duals.

I've got the flowmaster 40 series I like it but it was installed already when I bought the truck. Shortly after I bought it one of the pipes busted loose from behind the muffler so I grabbed a hack saw and cut the other one off. At the time I didnt know that what I did was refered to as dumping the exhaust. It did make it louder and more deap and I have been happy with it ever since.

I have super 44s and I love them. They are the loudest in my opinion that you can get. You get the most bang for your buck with those. People say that the sound in the cab starts to bother them, well it bothered me for about a week and know i dont even know it there. Go with super 44s they are the best.

Yeah a few of my friends said go with the super 44 as well so looks like thats what we'll go with. I have just always run GM b4 so didn't know how well the 4.6 sounded with flowmaster.
