Default how to measure

I have a 97 xlt supercab 3 door. I want a bed cover for it and I need to know what size to get. I bought a used one for it and it was about 3" too wide. Length is fine. I have a bedliner in it now and was wondering if this may have some affect on it fitting. I will have to sell this one and get one that fits. So, How do I determine what size bed I have in order to get the correct cover ? I want a tri-fold or lift up cover. So, if anyone knows I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance

Would you just need to measure outside to outside of the top of the bed?

THere is only 2 box styles for width a step side and a style side, sounds like you have the step side which would mean its 6.5 long.

Run down to your accessories dealer and ask them to measure it and give you a bid on the items you are desiring then go from there with their part numbers. They might have your best deal installed.
