204,000 and counting

I have a 1998 F-150 4wd Lariat. 5.4L engine and an 8ft. bed.

204,000 and still counting.

Never had a problem w/ the truck, neither did my Father, who put the majority of the miles on it.
Although, when I installed new brakes a month ago, I noticed the LF wheel bearings were a little sloppy. Those will probably be a summer project.

a_b_beefers 06-13-2009 11:39 PM

'01 5.4L crew, about 82,000. A few minor things. Just normal wear and tear when your farming and pulling 6 to 8 ton loads.

Farmer Sean 06-14-2009 11:42 AM

00 f150 5.4 4x4. 187k and still hauling cars and boats for hours on end. no problems, a few coils. doesnt burn oil either and thats running fully synthetic too

1979 F-150 standard cab long box - 82,000 miles, floods when you take a turn too sharp lol but is tuff as nails

1997 XLT Ext. Cab 4x4 - 117,000 miles and still hauls trailers across the country, been on a few 3,000 mile trips runs like it was brand new. replaced the rotors twice.

1998 XLT Standard Cab 6cyl -108,000 miles and is shaved, bagged on 22's, full custom interior, custom paint and is driven daily in the summer time, rain or shine and never have any problems. Replace tires because of camber from rolling low lol

chad.durnal 06-15-2009 10:11 AM

i only have 59,000 on my '01

adamrcannon 06-15-2009 03:31 PM

Sold my 1997 4.6 4x4 about 2 months ago. Odometer stopped at 153K and it had well over 200K on it. Engine was original and ran great, no oil leaks. Tranny was just about fried when I sold it and the 4x4 would not engage due to the transfer case needing to be rebuilt.

coot 06-28-2009 03:27 AM

2002 work truck base model with extended bed, 95k miles runs and drives like brand new and just had every single part drivetrain-wise inspected and everything looked just like new. Won't be stock for long, planned K&N intake in the next week and Flowmasters whenever I get enough money. Upgrading to chrome factory rims in a few days but other than that and a new head unit it's stock for now.

1999 F150 XLT with 89,500 miles. Love the truck; it runs great. Only complaint would be that I have probably had to change the rotors more times than I think I should.

iowaredneck 08-03-2009 09:39 AM

Just rolled over 145K this morning.

JW205 08-03-2009 10:22 AM

Might also be the manifolds ticking. By that I mean an exhaust leak and that makes a ticking noise. Common issue.

BuckandWalleyeguy 08-03-2009 04:27 PM

Got an 01' F-150 5.4 with 143,000 mi. Still runs like a champ. Need to cut off the cats and redo my dual exhaust (it leaks has holes in it) Other than that never been happier. Fordman for life, no doubt.
