How loud without cats

Default How loud without cats

On my 97 4.6 I currently have both sets of cats( or pre cats or whatever the hell they are not to important right now) then the stock piping to where the muffler used to be then it's y'ed and the 2 pipes come out the back so cheap duals anyway how much louder will it be without the further back cats

it would sound really good if u took off the rear cats and hollowed out the front cats

Wtf your basically telling him to take out all cats ^ . What are you looking for good tone or just straight noise. If your looking for tone put a good muffler like a bullet or magnapack, if you want loud ****ty noise do what he said. Removing the back cats is about the same as replacing all cats with 2 high flows and its about a 50% increase in volume while keeping tone. I have high flows to a bullet dualed out the back and on the high way it is loud enough NOT to hear yourself think, but its perfect in the city.

i have the 2 rear cats cut off and straight piped. its loud and i like the sound lol

so taking off the back ones and putting a good muffler on would be about like what your running

I also like borla mufflers with no cats. I'm just going to keep my cats and get magnaflow tho
