Default How to fix a death wobble

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 with a 7.5 inch fabtech lift with brand new 35s. The truck starts to bounce up and down driving at speeds around 40 mph and shakes driving around speeds of 60+ mph. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Well since you just got new tires.... id start there. Tires balanced? Weights still there? Road forced balanced? Tire out of round? Rim out of round? Is the lift new or just the tires? Could be lots of suspension parts too

You will need help, but for a quick, unprofessional first look, you can do a hillbilly shake. jack the front up with the wheels off the ground, and have a buddy shake the tire/wheel side to side and in and out at the top and bottom while you look for looseness in the suspension components. Also, put a 2x4 under the tire and lift up and let down, also while looking for looseness.- past that, my next move would be a professional alignment-
But my opinion/advice and 1.00 will buy you a coffee at micky-d's, but thats where i would start.
Good luck, regards, Bear.

At what point did this start? Need more info.

Do you have a steering damper/stabilizer on your truck?

The 40-MPH shake sounds a lot like the drive shaft spline needing lubricated, but I had this *and* the higher-speed issue when one of my U-joints froze up.

White brings up a good question, though. Did this happen in conjunction with any of the modifications/changes, or "out of the blue?" Also, did it happen abruptly, or did it start minor and get worse?

do you feel the wobble in the seat vs the steering wheel? if in the seat, take a long look at u-joints
