Id take it to a shop to get it steam cleaned to get rid of all the dirt on your engine. Then it will be easier to use a power washer later

Holy cow lol id hate to change the spark plugs in that thing. I bet mud has fallen in there and coverd the bolt part off them up! I have ran into that a few times. Makes it that much harder to change them out. I always got a flat head and broke the dirt up and a shop vac and sucked it out. But how did u manage to get ur engine bag that muddy? I've seen them muddy but dang lol do u not have inner fenders in the front?

Well uh.. I put my body lift on and didnt have my gap guards on for a good six months so I figured thats the reason for most of it. ... Or you could say I go hard in the mud lol

Yeah I need to change my plugs but there is no way im doin it with an engine bay that muddy. Im going to wash it in the morning and see how things go. Maybe if I cause a misfire it will make me change my plugs and coils faster but still dont want that to happen. Do u guys recommend covering the coils?

Thats why after I washed mine I went back with an air compressor (or you could use a shop vac on reverse) and sprayed out all the cavities.

Ha brother that's pretty dirty definitely power wash cold tho never hot and on a low setting I wouldn't use simple green I'd just use water and a cloth then take another cloth and wipe her down then I'd armor all that so it comes off easier next time

I seen some stuff on TV, I think the show was "Truck U" or something like that. They put a product i am pretty sure was made by armorall That made the mud just slide cleanly off the tires. I know it is for tires but im wondering it would do the same in our engine bay's on Plastic covers hoses and stuff like that ? Might make cleaning an easier job for all of us.

I am not in the mud as much as the original poster but i am constantly up and down dirt roads and when i do clean under there its a major PIA !

I was told to wash mine running.

My dad owns a body shop and a guy came up there one day wanting to detail cars for him, so my dad let him to wash my truck to see what he could do..
The guy didn't leave it running and we ended up having to replace some coils and plugs
