Default How to 4x4?

Yesterday I got what I think was a great deal on a 2001 4x4 Lariat with the 5.4 Triton.
Sadly, there's no owners manual.
So, what's the procedure for putting this thing in (and out of) 4 wheel drive? I've owned Jeeps and Chevy trucks so I'm familiar with those.
And what are the cubic inches of a 5.4?

4xH can be engaged by just turning the switch below 45mph [never have done it over 15mph myself but have come out of it at 30mph]. 4xL has to be done at a stop with the trans in "N".

Well you have to tell us whether you've got the 4wd switch or manual shifter?

It's shift on the fly but I normally just stop and engage and move on. I have the manual shifter on the floor. And when you switch it back into 2hi, I always go in reverse and make sure it disengages then drive away.

5.4 is 330ci I believe.

Displacement of 5.4L = 330 CI

I always just flip mine to 4H, then to 4L. I always stop to go to 4H or 4L, although it is not required for speeds below like 45 mph (as the above poster stated) when going to 4H (aka shift on the fly), but 4L it is required to stop. I put mine in neutral as well to go to any of the selections. Just my option really, some do things differently. Just remember, cannot go to 4L when moving, I believe.
