Default Horn?

So this guy is pretty much backing up into my truck in the parking lot, so I honked at him, first time I have ever used my horn since I bought it a year ago. It was horrible, a Prius would be ashamed to have a honk like that. My question is how hard is it to replace my horn with something that would sound like it should be on my truck. I don't want a train horn, a big rig horn would be cool, but I just wan the simplest horn to install that still sounds good. Are horns easy to change / install? Or should I go to a shop?

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=349888_0_0_ I had the exact same issue lol, so I use this, I had one person I honked at for trying to hug the curb at a stop sign intersection, After I released hell with the horn, a witness saw me at the local Whataburger an said and saw my truck but had to relook because they thought the other people where about to get plowed by a U-Haul. ,they are relatively easy If you have a drill, I got away without using a drill .There's enough holes an extra wiring to make things works, i'll post pics later.

Sounds like something I'm going to have to get lol, is the wiring hard to do? How long did it take you / did you have to take off the bumper?

well.... I have a steel bumper that sticks out an extra few inches. if I felt inclines I can put my horns there lol, you have to cut the old wire because itsa clip and the air horn requires the wires to go in ones side out the other kinda thing. I bolted the compressor where the old horns where hooked into the truck, and found holes along the rail infront of the radiator to use for the horns, ill brb with some pics. I had inadequate tools and moms cat bothering me so took about a half hour. for me anyways :P, if you have the right tools, maybe quicker.

for the wiring, you will needa cut the clip off the old horn so the wires are free, you should have a couple feet of slack ifyou mess up( I did), stick yellow wire in one hole and black in the other on the compressor. I think yellow is positive. ( second image is to help explain the holes the wires go through at the bottom of the compressor) I personally waylayed the electro tape lol

Compressor? Is this something where I have a lever in my truck, or will simply smacking the steering wheel still work?

like I said, I found holes the bolts will magically fit into, the only PITA is that the horns and compressor slide onto the bolts snuggly to stay on. so you'll either get lucky the first time or there could be alota minor turning of the bolt. make sure they fit snuggly though.

same old wires, smack that steering wheel an give someone a heart attack a quick note though, you wont need the nut for the compressor bolt if you set it up in the original horn hole like I did, I put some silicone in it though for reassurance.
