Default HID lights question

Hey guys I currently have 55w 6000k HID lights in my stock housing at the moment in my 99' f150. I was looking into the lightning housing to trade out for the stock housing. Do you guys think I should do this? The stock housing looks kinda funky and not clear, so wouldn't the light output be a lot more with the lightning housing? Here's what they look like for those of you who haven't seen the lightning housings.

Yes you should do it. You will get better light output from the lightning headlight. I did it to mine but took the hid's out because I didn't really like them. I only had the 35 watt lights tho so I'm not sure if the 55's will make a difference.

Is there a reason why you took your HID's out of the lightning assembly?

Hey my truck!! Lol

But I've been told the lightnings don't glare as bad as stock but high beam is pretty much useless.

If you're going to do HID's at least get a DOT rated projector housing and do it right. The amount of usable light, hot spots, etc are all better for lights using what they were designed for.

I can tell a difference in the high beam in stock, why would they be useless in lightning?

I don't personally know, it's just what everyone with them says.
