My 2001 F-150 was broken into and the key cylinder was ripped out. I bought a new cylinder and had my dealer re-key it to my orginal key. Also I had to buy the black ring that goes around the key cylinder. That reads the chip in the key. Well it turns over but because the anti-theft device has been activated it won' start. I checked all fuses and also the fuel pump. I can hear it so all seems good. The theft light is still on and also the mileage won't show. It just reads --------Do I have to reset something? I will bring it in to my dealer if I have too but I am trying to avoid any extra costs. And I also have always been a do it yourself type of guy. I just joined and I am alittle confused on how to navigate around the site. So my apologies in advance if I have done something wrong or posting in the wrong location. If anyone can shed any light on anything or how to reset the theft device or what to check it would be appreciated. Thanks, Melvin
