Default Help, stalling issue

I have a 1997 F150 long box 4WD 4.6l auto. Super chip.

I have been getting stalling issues the last while. When the truck is warm and I am moving/on the throttle there in no issue. The truck only stalls when I am idleing or coasting to a stop. After it stalls it takes a while to fire up. This happens intermittently. When it is stalling it is stumbling for a while, I was able to step on the gas once and noticed black smoke from the exaust. Seems like it is losing the ignition. As a side note I was able to note a relay buzzing in the fuse box as it was stumbling. This quite when the engine finally stalled. I looked up the description and was " One touch down relay" I belive this to be the power window relay. Not sure if this is related.

Sticky EGR valve can cause this. Try disconnecting the vacuum hose to it-see if that changes anything.

Thanks for the responses. I had some time after I posted and found lots of info, was not aware of how many issues are involved with the idle. I will start troubleshooting ASAP.

I just solved the same issue with mine and to fix it i changed my air filter back to stock from a k&n and put a whole spray can of throttle body cleaner through the throttle body, took all intake off and got right to the throttle body and worked it back and forth and cleaned off the back side of it with a rag untill all i saw was brass on both sides, truck instantly felt like a new truck idles perfect and had no stalling issues

Update:
I removed the superchip and all issues were resolved. I did replace the IAC as mine did look dirty after removing the chip.

Mine was doing the exact same thing. Try cleaning your throttle body first. I thought it was going to a real pain, but it was really easy to get off. Take your throttle body cover off and remove the air intake tube. Open the throttle and open the butterfly with your fingers. If it's black on the inside and a little sticky, that's probably your problem. I cleaned mine and it runs great and the response is ALOT better. Also, if you have a k&n, you could have over oiled it
