Default help with lighting

I want to put some lights on the back of my truck on either side of my hitch. The reason is because with 5% tint its impossible to see at night using the stock reverse lights. Could I wire lights into my trailer light harness? Or maybe splice into my tail lights? Give me some opinions

Easiest way is to run the lights directly off of the battery with a relay spliced into the power wire of the reverse lights.

That way it pulls voltage and amperage through it's own wiring harness instead of pulling it through the stock wiring. I'd suggest putting it on a switch. Could you wire it into the trailer light harness? Yes, but that's a large load drawn through the trailer harness.

oh and with a dark tinted rear glass, it really dont matter how much light you put back there, when its dark you still aint gona be able to anything out that glass.

with my backup lights, they just enabled me to use my side mirrors instead of sticking my head out the window to back up at night

Tap the trailer wiring; so much easier. I did both, a aux switch where I can turn them on from the cab and also tap the trailer and trailer is alot better plus you can't leave them on by accident like I've done before
