Depends on year model and vehicle. My 03 has them on the back of the intake manifold, I have seen some Harley's with them mounted on the back of the intake manifold also.
Now my embarrassed *** thinks that I have seen suppressors in the back of the intake as well,- like your saying. Aren't they connected to a little do-hicky on the manifold tho? For the composite type intakes? Iduno, something like that.
Well scratch everything I said....dangit! I thought the OP said grey wire!!
Sorry about that. Yea, he's probably referring to the RFI connector.
Surprised no one asked me what the hell I was talking about...bet you thought it lol.
Thought about it. But have respect for you. You;ve seen I only say something when someone is spewwing **** out.

Crap, need another coffee.
The plastic intake trucks have a little metal bracket that gets bolted under a manifold bolt. I have also seen them attack to the power steering resivor support bracket.

That makes sense, yea I knew there was something different with the way they attached to the plastic intake, - toward the back of it anyway.
PS bottle bracket ? Now that's different lol. But yea, that grounds to the engine as well.
