Drive Train. Your Ford dealer lied to you. Call the bulbs on the instrument cluster are replaceable. You do not need to buy anything except some bulbs. Here is a backside pic of your cluster. The arrows show replaceable bulbs for our dash.

I would bet that your headlight switch is bad at the rheostat for the light switch. This is common with most H/l switches in general. Sometimes you can move them slowly and they will contact and work, but usually when bad, its replacement time.

Never never never trust a dealer.... I don't know if being a pathological liar is a requirement to be employed at these places, or if they just do a lousy job training their techs and service writers... But they rarely seem to do anything right. Last time I went to one they said my front brake pads were worn down past specs (I only went because I got 2 years of free oil changes on my Town Car as a perk of buying from them) so I checked when I got home... They were practically new......
