help with CV AXLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey everyone.... so today i decided to change out my front cv axle on my 2000 f150 4x4 truck. the removel was a little difficult as the the shaft that splined into the wheel bearing was seized pretty good. i installed the new aftermarket axle and when i it all put back together the wheel wouldn't turn.so i called my mecanic buddy and he said to jack it up under the control arm adn the tire spun a little but still had a bind.took it for a ride and when i turned to the left it almost tore the friggin front end outta my truck. anyone know what the problem is? could it be a faulty cv axle?
not sure what u mean by dislocate the knuckle in the axle.no all i did was removed the sway bar link jacked up the truck and it pulled right out. i checked with the parts company and they said it was the right part #
Try another axle. I have had this happen with two axles right out of the box. When the truck is lifted and the wheel is off the ground the wheel spins fine. When you turn the wheel to the right or left it binds when you spin it.
