Anytime after 150,000 miles is a good idea. My 98 ran like a heavy slug, no misfires, idled and started great, just a slug. Updated injectors and coils and no exaggeration, it was a different truck. - Felt light, responsive and quick. Like I said though, I swapped the injectors and coils at the same time. Personally I think it was the injector filters. Each injector has a dedicated filter screen. These are and can be rebuilt with a kit you can purchase locally. It's much easier to purchase rebuilds.
