Need help for the right programmer
I have a 2001 f150 4.6 super crew, it has 33s, 3 in body lift, cold air intake, cats back exhaust . I'm looking for a programmer that will help this truck gain a little power but mainly be able to change the shift points. . . Right now if I'm going 70-75 mph it's sluggish once I hit a hill and it'll down shift to keep up and stay in that gear till I either let off to let it shift or if I'm going down that hill. You'd have to drive it to understand I guess but If I could change when it shifts it fix my problem . So what's yalls take on the tune and programmer I need to get, I have looked for some on the Internet and found these - live wire ts+, sct x4, gas evolution cs2 or cst2 , hypertech max energy, and super chip f5 flashpaq

SCT is kind of the go to around here, MPT, VMP and 5 Star all write good tunes for them.
Thing is, you really will not get much, if any, more power at all from a tune. The 93 octane tune may help a little, but then you have to use premium fuel. These engines just are not that tuneable ,and the 4.6 is a little gutless anyway.
You can adjust the shift points as well as correct for larger tires, which will help driveablity some.
The only way to really get "more power" is to regear the axle(s) or spend several thousand (or more) to do some real engine upgrades (not just your warm air intake and cat-back exhaust that do nothing for power) like long tube headers, cam changes, or even boosted (supercharged or turbo ie lots of $$$$).
Or go back to stock tire size and remove the lift and it will drive just fine.
