My compressor was wet when it leaked. It also had green PAG oil on it, which almost looks like antifreeze. I used Johnsen's Freeze with leak stop and PAG oil two years ago, and it's still holding and been fine. Of course, mine wouldn't be completely vacated in 2 weeks either. It was just losing 1/2 pound over the course of a year.

My compressor.... You can't really tell in this pic, but that bolt head had the PAG oil on it.

Why did it leak in first place?
Did you do any check or just recharge it and then surprised when it leakes again?

Slow leaks can be a hard to find, especially where you cant get at them with soapy water like compressor seals. If cant find it anywhere else, by default it becomes evap core.....and that might not be it after a lot of work.

Even ultrasonic leak detector doesnt pick up very small leaks or ones that only leak with engine running (high discharge press)

I had one once that leaked down in 1.5 months. Never did find it.

We did not check first I bought the truck in August and the ac worked until about November. Waited until the weather got warmer and recharged it hoping it would stay or we could spot the leak easily.

i just did this today. plus some close up pics of the issue. you can stick your fingers from inside the cab ti outside with no resistance.

what it looks like before

after retarded metal clip removed

with an elbow. theres silicone filling the cavity, then 3 layers of uniflex sealant, finally foil tape for heat reflective.
