FWIW, Spark,-we owned an 07 grand cherokee- one trip to walmart, we came out, started the jeep normally. Then the digital message display started displaying all manner of gibberish, but no cel.
Took it to autozone immediately, no codes found,- checked the battery,(battery was 5 yrs old)-10.4 volts!( alt. output ok)
How it started, i dont know- changed the battery, all ok!!
Only conclusion is the low voltage was giving the pcm fits.

That doesn't matter at all.

Even a new battery can go bad quickly with a weak cell. So check the battery out thoroughly, go see the Volt Miser. Heat Misers cuz.

I've had batteries fail in less than a year. Particularly when we've had a "lot" of snow here in misery (What? An inch of snow isn't a lot? They close the city down round these parts for less!) :P

They do some pretty strange stuff when the battery is down. On time the stereo began changing stations on it's own, attempted to change it back and my french fries disappeared.
