Default Help

Why would 1997 4.6 lose heat then overheat then not want to start back up for a min but then after it does it, it will run fine and I won't have any problems out of it I have changed the water pump thermostat and put new coolant in it is there a sensor bad or something I'm missing

I would check your engine coolant temperature sensors on the front of your intake. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and that was the problem.

It could be either one. Unplug them both and then use an ohm meter on the metal tabs in the sensor. It should read around 2000 ohms.
