Default heater core replacement

Hello all,

1997 XLT 4.6

Just wanted to ask if I really need to pull the entire dash as well as the steering column to change the heater core or is there a LESS PAIN IN THE *** way to get the job done?

Don't have a 97 to compare to, so as a generic answer, if the heater hoses connect at the firewall without an access cover located there, you are in for an afternoons project. If AC equiped don't forget to make arrangements for the recharge of it.

$ 280 is very reasonable! It looks like a JOB to me.
