Short of having to drop $25 for a 1 time use / specialty tool does anyone have any tips / tricks for getting the quick disconnects off the heater core in a 99 F150? It's in such a rotten place to try to reach, never mind see or get any leverage.

 

I think a lot of people cut them off and use regular hose clamps.

 

No idea what your talking about.
Squeeze the little white tips, pull. The fitting comes off the white thing
Remove white thing by itself, snap back into fitting

Tool? Never used no tool.

Might need wiggle to get edge of fitting opening over edge of white clip, but then it pulls right off it.

 

Bought the tool for 10 bucks on Fleabay...
