Okay so you're saying scrap the aftermarket head idea, b/c there is no forced induction or boost of any kind on the engine. And we have to replace the head cuz it was damaged so just go back oem? And replace with forged rods? Just rods or rods and piston heads?

just IMO the price of aftermarket heads arnt worth it. A good port job on the stock head would be more worth while. If you have plans to ever go to boosted then I would replace the rods, pistons don't necessarily have to be forged but alot of guys run forged pistons too. If you want to do anything with the heads I would just change the cams out.

What are your plans for the truck? There's just so many routes to go depending on what you want. Hopefully jbrew, IDB, 4x4 Dave, car crazy or one of those guys will chime in they know alot more about the subject

A daily driver? To me that is the same thing as a grocery getter !
How about a blower? Blueprint it? Stroke it? etc.
why would you waste the time and money to perfume a pig?

If you are serious, why not consider a Rousch crate motor.? or a Ford Racing crate ? You can spend the same money as you would trying to build a "franken-motor", but you will have something that runs
