Default Headlight question

I just bought a 2003 F-150 4x4 with the 5.4. I cant seem to have my park lights on and the fog lights at the same time. I can only turn the fog lights on when the headlights are on. I've seen other F-150's running with park and fog lights. Is this something they changed in the 2003 model?

Nope. Ford made it to where no 10th gen could have the fogs on with parks. People who have both on have figured out a way to bypass the ramp. The ramp being the piece of plastic that prevents it from happening. 2 ways:

1. Remove the **** and faceplate, and grind down the ramp. Harder, but I suppose more desire able as you have the choice to have them on or off.

2. Pull out the entire switch, and look for a brown wire. Splice a wire from said brown wire to a yellow wire. Every time you turn on the park lamps, the fog lights illuminate. Easier, but you can't turn your fogs off whenever you turn on your parks or heads. BTW, the brown wire are the running lights, and the yellow wire is for the fogs.

Brown to yellow mod FTW. I tried just grinding the ramp and it did nothing.

I love those fogs, and it looks like I found a new mod.

You still have to splice wires after grinding the ramp. I ground mine down and spliced the yellow wire with the white/black stripe wire. This way I can chose if I want them on and they'll stay on with high beams

Mine stay on with the high beams, I like them like they are because a lot of the time when it's raining or something I just run fog lights and corners.

But they gotta be on all the time don't they? I typically ride around like that too
