They showed up today. I had a couple things come to mind.

1. The instructions say to lengthen the O2 about 10", does that seem about right? I'll figure it out myself but I am impatient.

2. I'll be taking a carbide burr to the inside of the primaries as the weld extends well into them. Take a look at the pictures.

3. I haven't opened the Y-pipe yet. I'm going to call and see if they will take it back and if they will them I'm going to gather all the parts I need to build my own at the local parts store. If when the headers go in I can build it without too much frustration I will make my own 2.5". If I can't get the pre-bent pipes to route how I want/need then I'll probably end of using the 3" y-pipe go from there.

I can see what ibd was referring too. Thought he was just a hater lol.

The collector weld looks okay, - a little cold on the over-lap lol. Penetration looks okay from here..where it counts. The operator is definitely not an artist lol.

PS's are Migged (aluminized steel), OBX headers are Tigged (SS). Tig welds can look much nicer vrs Mig. Two different processes if you were to compare.

I've welded on these headers using a Hobart/Miller machine, they use good steel. It's the normal 16 ga, but very easy to work with. That aluminized steel is nice.
____________

Flange, -Primaries, - Yea, that's unacceptable. - Shouldn't have go past quality control (if it exists). I don't like that, - should have went back to machining IMO.

mechanicboy, - The exhaust/head flanges are thick, - looks like 3/16 from here. Since they ran the primary welds in one shot like that, you might want to check to see how true that flange is. It's probably okay.

I'm going to go thru the header pictures I have. I KNOW the flanges weren't like that. See if I can prove myself wrong lol.

Sounds like you know what your doing mechanicboy, post up if you need a hand.
