Get some ceramic coated headers. You will be happy with them in every aspect. You probably won't even notice an increase in sound but you will notice an increase in power/economy. No burnt gaskets or starter. Not to mention, they'll look 100% better than manifolds. Peace!

If you can get the headers get them. It will change the sound a little under the hood but not out back.

Manifolds are big and thick. Headers have thinner walls therefore you hear more through them but it's minimal.

You get what you pay for. You can probably pick up some ceramic headers for a little more than you would pay for one manifold. Tip, make sure you get headers with a ceramic coating. You'll thank me later.

You could get normal headers but the finish will come off or change color minutes after one start up. Also, ceramic keeps the heat in the exhaust and out of the engine compartment. Worth the extra $$$ in the long run in my experience.
