I believe that is where you plug in a trailer brake controller.

Looks like the wiring harness for a trailer brake controller. (Equipped on trucks with the tow package) Did the previous owner relocate it from the right hand side of the dash? Mine is next to the OBDII port...

The grey plug near the OBDII port is for trailer brake controller. I havent even figured out what the extra connector is for and I worked at Ford.

Damn, talk about a mystery. I may take a tester tomorrow on mine and see what happens.

Oh, by the way... Sorry to side track, but maybe you can help me out here as a past Ford employee. I programmed a 4 button remote to my old truck, and did get it to work. However, when I hit the trunk button, the dome lights illuminated. Nothing else besides that. Any reason why you think that happened?

Makes no sense. As these truck didnt have a individual wheel speed sensors on the rear. They had 1 rear wheel speed sensor.

Because the trucks never came with a 4 button remote only a 3. Lock/Unlock/Alarm. The rap model see's it a signal but doesnt know what to do with the command.
