I did it a couple days ago along with cleaning the trottlebody, and i can see an improved throttle response and overall acceleration, and everyone on here seems to agree that its well worth doing.

oh yeah takin the whole thing off is the only way to do it. There are plenty of threads here and on other forums on how to do it correctly.

I don't know how many miles you have on your truck, but if you've never done it I would also clean the MAF Sensor while you have your intake out. You can do it while it's still in the intake, or you can pull it out (that's what I did). Just keep in mind that you'll need tamper resistant torx bits (they have a hole in the center of them, size T-20) to remove the sensor from the intake. DON'T clean it with anything other than MAF Sensor cleaner or electrical parts cleaner. If you google "How to clean MAF Sensor" you'll find detailed instructions. Just don't forget to plug it back in when you're done or you'll know right away what it's like to not have one.

Well I'm not sure what you're planning on doing. The Gotts mod was pretty simple and only took about 20 minutes or so. Same with cleaning my MAF Sensor. I don't know if you plan on removing your silencer along with the Gotts mod, but it is a little more time consuming. It takes a while to get it ripped out of there. It did me anyways. If I had it to do over again I'm not sure if I would or not. I didn't notice a whole lot other than a different sound by removing the silencer. Everything else is deffinitely worth doing though.

It took me about 4hours total and I changed the oil, took off t-body and cleaned it thouroghly, did the gots mod and helped my sis-in-law with her brakes periodically the whole time. So uninteruppted it shouldn't take long at all.

i just did it over the weekend and im impressed... plus i ran the tuner on extreme and it really made a diffrence there but in towing its noticeable well worth the fight for the silencer...
