Default Gotts mod question?!?!?!?!

so i did the gotts mod on my truck today. i dont know if i did it right. i used a three inch pipe and coupler, the coupler was alot bigger than my filter box and didnt know if i did sumthing wrong? i drove my truck and didnt feel a huge difference, maybe i was expecting too much? idk but if i could get sum insight on this i would appreciate it.
