Default Gotts mod makes a difference

I had a K&N CAI with the plastic partition on it but I will tell you it still sucked in hot air from under the hood...the Gotts Mod sucks in air from a cooler spot and has made a big difference.

I switched them out last weekend and tried each of them out in the incredible heat we had and the Gotts Mod won easily.

Crazy how a simple little thing makes such a difference....

The gotts mod sucks air from the same place as the stock setup.
So basically, the stock air filter setup is superior to the open k&n cai with the plastic partition ?
Hopefully this saves people some money on those silly intake setups.

A little

always helps too.

ford361-correct, but I paid nothing for the K&N so I was out nothing...the partition is the black piece that separates the filter from the engine bay in case you were wondering BTW.

Any open box air intake will not be better than the stock or gotts mod , it automatically sucks in hot air from the engine bay becuase it is open ...if that's what are you talking about

Yeah anyone running a hai on a non boosted rig are the ones that just have to spend money or they got it free. even if i got it for free id sell the pos. lol how often is your hood up for it to be eye candy? Lol its just like running after market torsion keys there's no need unless you want more than stock keys will allow they just have to spend money. Gotts mod with nice amsoil dry drop in filter and you've got the best actual cold air intake there is.

I just can't wait to get a no crap ram air hood for my truck. Mainly because they look mean but also because it has to be better than both the stock set up which is still somewhat restricted by the fender and the supposed CAI that sucks hot air in from the engine compartment.

When I get the time I plane on making a true CAI that will get air from out in front of the radiator, or find a true cowl induction hood to hack up to make it work. I have a huge list but a gf and kid take away from that.

Same here, with a wife and three kids that $500 hood isn't gonna. E added on anytime soon. I'll probably have to add it in on the paint job budget when I paint it black, it'd be better that way anyway.
