Just did it on my 97 4.6 V8, had no real problems, found sewer pipe didn't fit as well so I grinded it down and fit my own. Um and I shaved off the tab on the end of the filter housing that connects to the coupler, other then that I followed all the directions in the how to. Give it a shot and just adjust the mod how you need too

If the tube you mean the PVC pipe then no not for mine. I used a 5 inch piece of pipe grinded 2 inches to fit in the fender hole and the remaining 3 inches gave me room to but the PVC up to the filter housing. But like I said I had to grind that tab off the filter housing for a solid seal. I could take some pictures tomorrow if you would like

yea that would be great, i meant the factory tube going into the fender is longer on his then mine was, so i thought some of the pvc pipe would be visible, if you could get a pic that would be awsome

Here you go, as you cab see there isn't any PVC showing, idk if this is what yours looks like but this is my 97. That coupler butts right up to the fender wall and the other end is on the filter housing obv. It's 5 inches of PVC, 2 inches in the fender wall and the rest in the coupler, with an extra inch or so for the air filter housing to fit in the coupler

Yea my only concern was making sure everything sealed good around the fender hole and where the coupler joins so no dirt gets past the filter or into the system
