I was driving and there was a minivan and two cars infront of the van.. The first car abruptly darted off down a street and the car infront of the vam slammed on its brakes and so did the van and then me. The car infront of the can shouldn't have even slammed on there brakes at all because the car that went down the street was long gone.. So basically I stomped my breaks they locked up and I Tryed to swerve out of the way but didnt clear it so I rear ended the van and the car that basically made the wreck happen floored it and kept going.. My neck is ****ed up I might have a concussion not sure yet though..

I've been in that same exact situation. Back in high school, only going 35 or so but following too close. My car was really low to the ground, ford windstar in front of me. Couldn't see around it at all. Car in front of them slows down quickly to turn down a side street and I looked away for a second and than saw the van stopping and pow I rear ended them.

 

At least you didn't do the damage to your truck that you did to that Honda. You may have a couple thousand, but the Honda is upwards of 5k. Glad you didn't get hurt. Be glad you had a truck and not some puddle jumper. You might of really gotten messed up. Did the guard help you any?

 

Good thing you had the guard. Probably wouldve been much worse without the guard. But yup that's the exact reason they say not to tailgate. I know that's not exactly what you want to hear at this point. What'd it bust on your truck? The radiator?

 

The gaurd helped out so much actually.. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt for some dumb reason so my mouth got busted open and I've got a concussion. Inside of my mouth had a gash from my teeth.. I feel rode hard and put up wet this morning but I'm going to run the truck to a buddy's shop to get him to check everything out for me..
