Default Good plastic paint.

I want to repaint all the black plastic on the exterior of my truck. Any good brands for plastic bonding paint? I hate plastidip. Everyone uses it. Any ideas are appreciated.

The only people that plastic dip everything are the 16 year olds.

Default Krylon Fusion works great.

I actually painted the black front bumper inserts on my 2010 with Krylon Fusion hammered metal Silver. It came out great and holds up very well... no peeling or flaking...it's on there. I just took them off and cleaned them with rubbing alcohol to remove any grease or oils, then 4 or 5 coats of Fusion. If you want to get rid of the textured look, just keep sanding in between coats with 220 then 400 grit paper until the texture is all filled in and the parts look smooth. The initial paint job lasted thru 3 winters no problem and last summer I took them off and recoated them quick to freshen them up. If you look real close in the pictures, you can see I also did the long strip that runs behind the license plate bracket. I also drilled holes around the inserts and added rivets to give them a studded look. (hard to see in the pics) It only took 1 can to do those pieces several light coats. I did not clear coat them afterward because I was afraid it might lift the paint (never tried it) and it didn't need it. I just waxed them with the rest of the truck after reinstall.

Thanks, that is what I was going for. I'm not into the whole blacked out look. I think it looks awesome on certain trucks, just not every truck. On my trucks I always opt for chrome bumpers for the longevity (NY winters) and ease of maintenance, so I wanted to tone down those black plastic areas in the front. Standing back it looked like there was a big chunk missing out of the bottom of the bumper with the black pieces. Now it just flows better especially with the silver two-tone on the sides.

Quick Reply: Good plastic paint.
