Default Glasspack or flowmaster?

I'm looking into getting a new muffler and It's either a gonna be a glasspack or the flowmaster super 44 delta.
I asked a guy at a shop about the flowmaster and he wanted like 350 to do it because he said I needed to run new pipes and stuff.
Would it be bad to just chop my muffler out and weld it In? Or have to go and do the whole thing.
And for the glasspack, is there any performance boost in it? I'm not very familiar with them.

I have a Super 44 on my 4.3 Chevy and I love it. My tailpipe fell off so I ended up just welding the muffler in and putting a turn down on it. I love the sound, I'm definitely putting one on the F-150 after I get some other stuff that I need to buy. The 44 holds a good note at high RPM and doesn't sound like a ricer like some other mufflers. I don't see why you would need to make new pipes. All you need is the muffler ($60) and a length of whatever size exhaust is on the truck ($10) since the flowmaster is shorter then the stock muffler and cut and weld.

That's awesome
I bet the turn down sounded sick
So it should be ok if I just cut it out and weld it in huh
I won't have to do a while cat back system right?

If the tubing is in decent shape and the diameter is what it is supposed to be, I say cut it out and reuse the existing system...

Don't get a flowmaster if you want performance, they flow terribly and will hinder your exhaust flow. The glass pack flows straigh through and youll gain some performance.

I keep hearing that but the Super 44 on my other truck made a noticable difference. They might not flow like a glass pack but it's definitely not going to be worse then stock.
