Its reassuring to see the radio fits behind the shifter. I have a radio shack copy of 2wd's Cobra. I bought it before thinking where it was going to fit. I have a 102" whip to go off the back bumper. I'll come back and post pics when it goes in.

The problem I am having know is mounting the antennas. I have a medel 117 weatherguard saddlebox so the lid is really thick. I was wanting to mount them behind the toolbox but then the toolbox is like 6 inches from the cab and it will look really dumb. So I think I am going to make home made mounts with some diamond plate that was given to me. Then I will slide it under the toolbox. I found 3 foot k40 1000 watt antennas really cheap so I am going to get them.

My wife just bought my cb for my anniversary gift. I didn't want to use a magnetic mount on my roof, leaving some kind of ring. So was thinking of attaching it to the front of the bed, in between the bed and the cab, on the driver side. Anybody have any recommendation on where i can find the antenna mount to do this with?

Do you have a truck stop around? They would have anthing cb related you would need. Ebay also would have what you need.

The closest truck stop is an hour drive away. I was hoping to have all the gear and make one trip up there to have the guy tune my antenna. I have found a ton of mounts on the internet; I'm just not sure which one I should use to mount it in the spot.

My dad only had whips on the car when I was growing up. So I was wondering how much flexability do the firestiks have and if they have a tendency to not hold up while driving through parking decks? Not sure whether I should stick to what I know or venture into the uncharted territory...
