Default Gears? Overkill?

Does anyone think that if I run 33's with 4:10's it's over kill? I have a 1997 f150 4x4 offroad 5.4l with 3:55 right now

Mine has 3.55's and I'm worried that once I put the 35's on it, I'll need 4.10's.

Well I'm not
Gonna go any bigger tires then 33's. The truck is my daily driver/offroader. And it will be getting a long travel/ mid travel suspension. So 4:10's aren't gonna be over kill?

I just bought some 33s and was thinking of doing the same thing to my truck because I also have the 3.55 gears. I am not going to install them till mid fall but that should give me plenty of time to earn money for the gears and the instaltion kit too. Also thought of putting a limitted slip diff or a locker seeing that I have an open diff in it now.

Yeah I'm
Considering a locker in the back too. As I have a limited slip right now

If your going for the prerunner offroader, 4.10's are perfect theyll turn the 33's with ease and you will maintain your top speed, with 33's and 3.73 gears im turnin 1700rpm at 65 so you shouldnt break 2000rpm with 4.10's

since this is the overkill thread. Im not worried so much about gas mileage. What about 5.38 with 32" tires? anyone done this or had experience with it.
I want to pretty much max it out with gears and later on add cams and supercharger

right now it has flexalite fans, LT headers and high flow cats with a 2 chamber flowmaster plus a cold air intake. Getting pullies and throttle body in next week.
