Default Gear Shift Indicator Adjustment

So, I've found the guide on here about how to adjust it and with a bit of contortion managed to reach it without having to remove any panels.

The indicator was offset to the right by a full gear, I've turned the adjuster as far as it will go and it has helped a little but its till offset.

Does this mean that there may be another issue?

Thanks

Are you suffering from a "sloppy shifter" symptom or is it a matter of the indicator being off by one gear?

If you have the first, leave the adjustment alone and fix the sloppiness first.

If you have a sloppy shifter, it just might need to be tightened.

Gear shift seems to be okay just the indicator off by the one gear.

Thanks

The plastic bracket the the thump wheel rides in is known to brake.

Wish this thread would of got finished out. So what's the problem if gear selector slips one gear to the right ? It's not the adjuster, that's been spot on, not overly sloppy. It just slipped one over.... Iduno, the kid does 50 down rough dirt roads, maybe the TRS came loose at the trans...don't know yet.

2nd is now D , It's in park at R.

I haven't looked at the truck yet, It's the kids vehicle now and quite a ways away. I'll take a look this spring and post the fix here.

The rear of the plastic adjuster had broken off so turning the adjustment wheel didn't actually adjust anything.

There is a post on this forum that details how to fix it....ten minutes and a cable tie and that was it done.
