Default Gaaaahhhh.....

I just want to scream!

Every time we get a good rain here, I lose another ignition coil. This is the third good rain here in three weeks. First rain killed cylinder 6. Second rain took #2. Today I start my truck for the first time all day and now I have misfires on #1 and #7.

I HATE COP IGNITION.

That's why when my car was misfiring and the code reader didn't get me any codes I decided to change all of them problem solve, I check mine the old way with the car running and unpluging one by one since I could not get the codes from the reader and I had 3 bad ones. so I recomend you to change all of them at once. Good luck.

A friend has a 01 5.4 rain/wash new coil somewhere. Purchased the cowl seal. Made at home (read homemmade, lol) out of aluminum foil to get bend right then found wide&long plastic/lexan and zip-tied in several places no more water kills

No, even the one under the radiator is there (oddly).

The sad part is that not one of these coils has fouled while running. Its always after its been sitting for a longer period of time than just overnight. Yesterday for instance, it sat all Sunday night and then all day Monday up until about 5pm.

Roughly the same thing happened the last time, too.

All my weather stripping seems to be in tact around the hood and the engine never really ever appears wet when I look at it... only what has fallen off the hood when I open it to look.

Oh, and BK- my pay is public knowledge.... feel free to investigate as YOU (and everyone else here) helps pay it. I wish it were more.
