Default Fx4

This may sound dumb, but I want to figure this out. When I bought my truck it had been repainted and there were no 4x4 or Fx4 stickers on the bed. The used lot I received it from was unsure as well. It has 4wd but how do I know if it is just standard or not? Thanks in advance.

What year?

02-03 is FX4... I don't think 01 had FX4, but it could have.

97-01 with the offroad package has skid plates..

02-03 is when they changed offroad package to FX4.. so if your truck is a 98, it's not a true FX4... but who cares.

From what I remember when I ordered my truck back in '02, the Package I ordered with XLT, 4x4 and al la carte the skid plates and tow package, I was able to get the 4.6 V-8 with a stick instead of paying $3k more for the FX off road package. The FX just had more of the nice options standard and the automatic trans and the 5.4 -V-8 and the Rancho shocks...

I did finally pick up the FX wheels for my truck. I had been wanting those since I got my truck.
