Default fuel filter change

Anyone know if i pull the fuse for the fuel pump and blead the pressure off the system. Will the engine side line loosen up a bit? Just went to change it and its on a bit of a down angle and i cannot get the tool on it. Since im laying in wet sloppy snow trying to do this i figure i should give up before i brake something. This is on a 97 f150 4.2. Actually looks like the outlet tube is on a bend upwards causing the bind

I just did mine today as well on my 07. On mine there is a harness plug for the fuel pump under the drivers door. Its behind a dust cover. On mine i disconnected that as per my book says, then cranked it over until i used all the fuel, then unhooked the neg on battery. I had better luck taking the line from tank off first, then the feed line to engine last as i could hold the filter as i worked my tool in the line. Hope this helps

Easyest way is to pop up the fuel pump reset located behind the pass side kick panel and then start the truck. It will use the fuel in the line then die. I just change my filter. Took 5mins

Um does that switch do something different than the fuse? Don't they both cut the power to fuel pump?

No it doesnt. You could pull the fuse and achieve the same thing. As long as you depressurize the line it really doesnt matter how ya do it.

Nope. But thats why its there. No need to put any panels or anything. Just reach around and flick the switch

And i only had one clamp on mine, the tank side had the blue style clip that you have to pry up to release the line. So both ends are different style connectors on mine.
