Default Front Coil Help

Hi all,
So I just bought a leveling kit for my 1998 2wd (3 inch front and 2 inch back), and I am in serious need of some help. I installed the rear blocks with no issues whatsoever, however, the front coil spacers are proving to be quite a problem. Would any of you mind giving me some tips or advice as to how to install the coil spacers? I'm able to get my shock out and get the sway bar detached, but I cannot for the life of me find out how to get the spring out so I can put the spacer on... any help is much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Honestly. Throw that spacer in the trash. Any spacer over 2" will destroy your front end. Either get the 1.5" Daystar spacer or do a spindle lift if you still want 3".

Here's mine with 1.5" in the front and 1" block in the back.

Alright, so we're I to go with a different spacer, do you have any tips or words of advice for how to install the smaller spacer?

As far as removing the spring you'll have to detach the upper and lower ball joints (good time to replace them) and then drop the lower control arm to get the spring out. You will also need a new a new camber bolt kit for a spacer but not for a spindle lift. I had to use a spring compressor to get it back in with the spacer on it. (If you do this be VERY careful. Using a spring compressor incorrectly can cause it to fail and seriously hurt or kill you)

This is after reinstalling the spring/spacer, shock, and sway bar. When I was working on the ball joints.

Wow! Your truck looks good! So you had to completely remove the break system, huh?

Thanks! I'm clearing 285.75.16s with the spacer.
And yeah but it all more or less comes off as one unit when removing the stock spindle. I didn't actually remove the rotor from the spindle.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to clear the same size with this kit I got... that is if I can get the damn thing installed... thanks for the help! Did you end up using a spring compressor at all?

I did to re install the spring. But for real that 3" spacer is going to kill the ride and suspension components. It would be best to return it and go with a smaller spacer or that spindle lift I mentioned. I can't even imagine trying to get that spacer to fit even using a spring compressor. It was hard enough just making my 1.5" fit.

Okay, I may just return the 3 inch spacer and find a 2 inch instead. So once I get the shock removed from inside the spring, what is the easiest way to install the spacer on the coil?
