Default front brake issues

front left wheel was getting covered in brake dust and my ABS was coming on. so i took the wheel off looked at the brakes and noticed that my pads weren't being worn evenly and one piston was coming out further then the other. im just wondering what to do next. is the abs just coming on because the pads are worn? and does one piston just not travel as far as the other? any advice would rock. thanks

Sounds like one of your caliper pistons is seized....

Not sure about the ABS,

It sounds like your left pad may not be fully releasing,
Are your slide pins moving freely?
When you remove your front left pads do they come out easily, or is there corrosion between your pads and caliper, if there is corrosion, your pads will not release fully. Does it pull to the left?

Agreed with making sure your pads move freely. If they do, time to replace the caliper.

Clean everything real good. As metal corrodes the surface expands, after you wire brush it, do a light sanding. I coat my caliper bracket with a good iron oxide primer. Brake maintenance(cleaning) done every year will save you money in the long run.

Your Welcome, Hope it fixes your problem. Clean the right side while it's in the air. How many miles on the truck?
