Where can a person find frame measurements on all ford trucks. Was thinking if I could put my 97 regular cab on another frame with a v8 it would be awesome.

Well 97-03 Ford F-150s came with v8s .... so just get a v8 f150?

 

That's what everyone says but my old truck is paid off and it's the 1st thing I ever bought completely on my own

 

The frame is the same. You will need a complete 97 donner truck to do a swap. Motor, transmission witch will be automatic rear end transfer case all of the wiring the PCM steering column for the auto peddles. And some one that can do all that work. Your tranny won't bolt up to a V8. As I said in your other thread the older 5.0 truck engine is a cheaper option as your tranny will bolt to that. .

 

Yeah I'm confused. Why don't you just buy a 97-03v8 truck and swap what you need into your truck? Why would you try to swap the cab and bed onto some random year frame? You say bought this truck yourself and want to keep it yet you want to keep nothing but the bed and cab(cz that's what you'd be doing if you put a new frame and engine under it)? Seems foolish. Either buy a 10th gen V8 and enjoy the second truck you've ever purchased or buy a wrecked 10th gen V8 and swap the v8 and parts over to your current truck. At least that way you keep your frame/cab/bed and only swapping out the motor.

 

Yeah, a 4.6 and a 5.4 are physically larger than a 460. If you want a bigger displacement motor, it will fit.

I asked in another forum if there was a kit to convert to a 8 for my truck but all I got was basically buy another truck. Not put everything from another truck into mine I didnt know that u can just drop a 8 down in my truck. That's why I'm asking about frames gathering knowledge
