Default Forgive me

For being a newb girl

Can someone tell me what each one of these coolers are for?

The one on the bottom seems a bit out of place and I have no idea what it goes to, I'm assuming one of these is the transmission cooler.

Also, what is this filter for?

back one is a factory power steering cooler, and front one, an aftermarket (Hayden??) add on transmission cooler.

Note....take that pos Fram filter off and use an FL820S Motorcraft. Orange can Fram is a real piece of crap.

I've gotta say, whoever put that aftermarket oil cooler in did a pretty shoddy job. I'd be cleaning that mess up if it were my truck.... and ditching that Fram filter. They are junk.

Also, the small cooler 2nd from the bottom if for power steering.

Yeah I was surprised to see it just hanging there. There's a "smoosh" in it where clearly road debris has hit it. I have to figure out where to put it

The amount of shoddy jobs I've had to fix on this thing is ridiculous.

Every speaker wire was cut, there was bare amplifier wires laying under the plastics. Come to find out they spliced the 8ga amp wire into an 18ga power wire they had hooked up to a brake controller.

The battery to body ground wire was literally laying on the terminal

This one was more concerned with having camo on every inch of the truck than keeping it in good condition.

I wonder if they had a leak in the OEM cooler and added the aftermarket to "fix" it?
edit: looks like the aftermarket is in-line with the OEM. Maybe just trying to get more cooling? Not really a bad thing, just poor placement.

I would use a Fram oil filter over a Motorcraft any day.
Poor quality at Purolator lately (they make the Motorcraft Oil Filters) and have been having issues with media tearing in them under normal use.
Fram quality has really improved over the past few years (even the Orange cans). I used to be a Motorcraft filter guy till they started having problems.

I wish the 2wd had the remote filter. It would make oil changes so much easier and less of a mess.

I hadn't heard anything bad about Motorcraft filters, and when I did a search, the only time there was a problem that I can find was 2003. Where is the info on the newer problems found. I'd certainly like to see that. I can find all kinds of recent bad reviews on the orange can Fram but nothing on MC. Little Help?
