I looked into doing a 12v swap. With buying a complete running engine, using my built 4R100. Using a completely stock engine it was right around $7000. Let alone any modifications for more power. If I was to do it, I would build a P-pumped 24V. A 7.3 powerstroke will barely fit but I'm unsure of all the work required to get a downpipe to fit..

I would agree on the 8-10k range... if not more. Plus custom mounting, and I can't see the tranny holding up to well. And all the weight from the diesel in the front will put alot of stress on the frontend susp. All the torque will probably tweaked the frame.
