Default Fog Lights

Fog Lights-image-4118032436.jpg

Well Friday i bought me a new lower valance with spots for the fog lights an tow hooks because the truck didn't come with spots for them on the other valance, I also bought me fog lights. so today I put the valance on an i went to install the fog lights and I saw this. the one on the left doesn't hook up to the bulb an the one on the right is snipped which is suppose to hook to the fog light. any advice on what to do? I want to hook my fog lights up and don't know what to do. how would I hook up a new wiring harness? where would I even get a new wiring harness? also how do you mount them with what size bolts an nuts an stuff. I went to Certifit an they give you the fog light just not the mounting screws. any advice would be awesome an I'd appreciate thanks!

What kind of truck do you have? Did it come with fogs from the factory? And you can get the fog plugs from probably an auto salvage yard. Just get them and splice them onto the old plugs.

2003 F150 SuperCrew FX4, it didn't come with fog lights when I bought it, but does have the harness tucked away incass wanting to add them later like ford is known for doing really glad for that! like in the pic, but on the other side the plug fits into the bulb it's just the driver side that doesn't have the plug. is this something I can get at napa maybe auto zone someplace like that. all I need is like 6 inches of the wire with the plug on the end to plug into the bulb then splice the wire into the factory harness.

Someone on Ebay has that "harness" which is merely an extension (or simply splice into the 2 you have and seal well). First, do you have the light switch with the pull-out for the fogs? Good trip to the junkyard or Craigslist to find - so you don't have to run switch wiring through the firewall. Check to see if there's a fuse in place in the driver's side compartment. Looks like you'll have an easy time. Where exactly are those 2 harness you show in the picture? I need to find mine!

I need just the plug to the bulb an like 6" of wire to tie into. yes I have the pull out switch on my headlights for the fogs. I'll check when I get home an do u know which fuse # it is?

well as you can see my hand is coming through the hole in my valance where the fog goes, this is on the driver side btw. that is still factory zip tied to the frame.

Thanks, Raif! If you have the factory fogs ready to go into that valence, they use 9006 bulbs. The photo shows the extension connector, and here's the listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/130578585826...#ht_4126wt_924

If you're going to mount your own (aftermarket), then the connector might be a 9006, so simply cut or scotch-lock into the existing harness for your set. Your owners guide should show what # the fuse is (might be a 5 amp) - I'd check now, but truck is at the tire shop getting a new set of BFG Long Trail TAs.

no problem! an yes I bought some factory fogs and they came with bulbs! yeah that's the extension, I guess I could just order that. I'd have to cut one end off and wire it into factory harness that is cut. I'm sure it's a 5amp nothing to high and I havnt had time to look. but like I said I have the factory harness, one end is just snipped and idk what he other plug is for! lol as you can see in this picture. the one on the right is where the fog light plug should be.....and idk what the one on the left is for
