Is there a reason why you wires an extra switch versus just hooking them up to your running lights so that whenever you lights are on there on?

Z7what, I asked around and was told that there was a chance that the power running through, with out a relay, could melt the wiring and/or could dim the lights. I didn't really want the light on every time the main lights were on any way.
