Default Fog Light Problem

I have recently completed the fog light mod (found here:http://www.svtlightnings.com/svt/how...s/foglamps.htm), but something isn't working right. I have a 2000 F-150 Lariat with factory autolamps and factory fogs. I have hids in my headlights and for foglights. I did the mod to the switch so I am able to pull it out in parking light mode and I spliced the brown and black/white wires together (2 & 12). My problem is that when I switch my parking lights on my headlights come on too (bad). When I pull the **** out from parking lights my foglights come on (good) and my headlights stay on (bad). I removed the splice, because I thought that I may have messed up the switch, but all positions function normally like it did before the mod. Any ideas why my headlights come on in PL with the splice in place? Any ideas of an alternative splice or other troubleshooting ideas?

Note: I have removed my driving light HID relay and reinstalled a 9007 with no change in result with the headlights coming on in the parking light mode with the splice in place. I'm really running out of ideas of why this isn't working on my truck. It's NOT a Canadian truck by the way. Should I post some pictures of my wiring harness? Any help would be great guys.
-Mike

I searched and searched on this topic. The easiest way I found was to run a seperate relay for the fogs. Took about an hour but well worth it.

Any type of walk through? Or even basic instructions? I really want to get this done.

Mine did that. After you splice the brown and white/black wire. You have to cut the white with black wire on the side of the splice closest to the front of the truck.

If you need a better visual. I can take a picture of what I mean.

It actually tells you in that link you posted above. It says "for Canadian truck owners" I'm not Canadian and I doubt this truck is but I had to cut it like it said there.

I done that same mod from the same link and blew the fog/driving light relay. Something about the instructions on that site just ain't right. Now i am going to do it the way i should have in the first place and just run a new relay and switch so that i can add more lights to the system later.

Man that helps alot! I ignored that because it is a truck bought here in the US. Will try once I get off work and get back to my Ford. The instructions on that site are a little vague.

Ok do you cut the black and white #2 wire off of the switch or do you cut it after the splice so that it is no longer functional ?

I cut the black/white before the splice, so it looks like a "h". With the black/white and brown wires still connected to the switch. It may not be necessary on most F-150s.
